Linda Yellen, Jill Eikenberry, and Patricia Richardson - Chantilly Bridge, Chantilly Lace, Home Improvement (2023) #video

Chantilly Bridge is a follow-up to Linda Yellen’s 1993 Sundance resort-shot feature Chantilly Lace. It takes place 30 years after the original and shows the same pals and their current activities. Many talented actresses from Chantilly Lace reappear in Chantilly Bridge to bring their characters to life again. The characters' recollections collapse on the present in a unique cinematic experience that cuts back and forth between films. They face old grudges, celebrate victories, and rediscover the unbreakable connection between friends who knew each other years ago and are still there for each other today with the same unpredictable humor and searing honesty.

The star-studded cast features Jill Eikenberry, Patricia Richardson, Talia Shire, Ally Sheedy, Helen Slater, JoBeth Williams, Naaji Sky Adzimah, and Lindsay Crouse. Judy Collins' music and tracks are also featured in the film. Producer/director Linda Yellen, who has also helmed the movies Looking Up, Parallel Lives, End of Summer, Northern Lights, The Simian Line, The Last Film Festival, and Fluidity, is behind the camera for Chantilly Bridge. Michael Leeds and Linda Yellen wrote the film's script. Dana Keefer, Michael Leeds, and Andrew Fiero produced the work.

Chantilly Bridge brings together a group of steadfast, lifelong friends who are still pursuing their goals, standing up for injustices, and defending their beliefs in their later years. With humor, humility, humanity, and love, the women openly discuss their lives and the significant problems that affect them. These women have razor-sharp wit and insight on every subject, including feminism, parenting, careers, love, and even "me-too" moments. This brings attention to who they are and what they worry about, even though women frequently feel invisible in society. In an environment devoid of males, we get a sense of what women are really like and what they talk about. Chantilly Bridge also explores the beauty of a common past and reunites with old friends from the past.

While I may not be the target audience for this, I wasn’t going to miss an opportunity to talk to everyone’s favorite Mom, Jill Taylor. Despite my bad taste, if this is something you’re interested in, Quiver will debut Chantilly Bridge in select US theaters and on VOD starting March 24th and on demand April 14th.
