Make vampires cool again. Easier said than done, right? Sure, but Frank Sabatella does him damndest to appreciate the glory days of vampires with his latest release, The Shed. Perhaps even with a few slasher Easter eggs for you hardcores out there.
In The Shed, Stan and his best friend Dommer have put up with bullies their entire lives. All of that changes when Stan discovers he has a murderous vampire living in his shed. Seeing the bloodshed and destruction the monster is capable of, Stan knows he has to find a way to destroy it - but Dommer has a much more sinister plan in mind.
I dug The Shed. As mentioned in the interview, this was one of the many films I watched leading into Halloween, and I’m happy I did. The Shed is a love letter to eighties, and where many directors fail, Sabatella perfectly uses homage to showcase a time in film that genre fans lust over.
AMC Networks’ RLJE Films has acquired U.S, rights to the horror film The Shed. It was written and directed by Frank Sabatella. The film stars Jay Jay Warren, Cody Kostro, Sofia Happonen, Frank Whaley, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and Timothy Bottoms.
If you're a fan of films like Lost Boys or Fright Night, give this one a go. The love and care that Frank puts forth are definitely worth, at the very least, a Redbox rental.
RLJE Films will release The Shed in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD on Nov. 15, 2019.
