Another day, another Indiegogo campaign courtesy of Shawn C. Phillips, and this time I needed answers. For those that haven’t been following along at home, I’ve reached out to Shawn numerous times, and he always declines my queries. Call me crazy, but when you spend money on something, I feel like the person taking your money has some responsibility to be accountable. But despite the radio silence when someone asks where their money went, you can bet your bottom dollar that he’ll be reaching out to me and everyone I know when he announces Amityville Shark Monster 3 next month.
Needless to say, I call it as I see it, and apparently, I have met my match. While Shawn continues to not fight his own battles, he has traded in a pseudo-influencer for an Air Force veteran Nicole Butler, also known as Nicole Vegas.
Nicole enlisted in the US Air Force upon graduation from high school and was assigned to Air Force Security Forces which enabled her to become proficient in combat arms, self-defense, and law enforcement tactics. Upon completion of the Air Force, Nicole chose Las Vegas as her permanent residence where she held the position of Law Enforcement Officer and United States Postal Worker.
I was curious as to why someone with so much going for them would turn to acting, and from what I gather, it’s Nicole’s selflessness and natural beauty that caught the eye of many producers and directors in the area. This has guided her to take a direction in entertainment where she can connect with more people which is her true passion for gathering others in her pursuit of giving back to the community.
While Nicole was able to answer some of my questions, she wasn’t able to answer all of them. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the mystery has been solved, but this story is far from over, and while I appreciate Nicole’s sincerity, I can’t help but feel that she is just another pawn in the game of Shawn C. Phillips’ carelessness. Time will tell though, and his invitation stands.
Nicole assures me that Desert Fiends will get completed and every perk will be delivered. And you know what? I believe her!
