Like it or not, horror seems to be going mainstream! More horror films are in theaters, and smaller-budget horror films are finally getting noticed by bigger audiences. Why are people finally giving scary movies a chance? Are the movies better or are people just tired of the same old thing? Either way, I'm here for it!
3 years ago, director Deon Taylor sat in his house wondering if he would have to watch someone in his family die from an unknown airborne disease. Like a lot of us, he lived in fear waiting for answers and an understanding of what was happening in this world. After some reflection, Deon realized that fear controlled him, and he needed it to stop.
Fear, the 2023 film, is a product of that deep thinking and a lot of hard work. I've spoken to a lot of filmmakers, and I can tell you that there are few as passionate as Deon Taylor. It was an absolute pleasure to discuss his film with him and Andrew Bachelor, better known as King Bach.
In this psychological horror film, a group of friends gathers for a much-needed weekend getaway at a remote and historic hotel. Celebration turns into terror as one by one, each guest faces their own worst fear.
Fear comes out on January 27th, just before February. Assuming someone doesn't see it on the day of its release, this is the go-to Valentine's film of the year! Support horror. Support passionate filmmakers. Go see this film!
