Lauren LaVera - Iron Fist, A Taste of Christmas, Terrifier 2 (2022) #video

Terrifier 2 is something else, and while I am a fan of Art, I'm not really sure how to feel about this one. I want to love it because it was such a success for horror films and indie filmmaking in general, but I have a hard time looking past all of the flaws.

To me, the film felt like a glorified music video with Art as your guide through awkward exposition and countless montages. So many scenes could AND SHOULD have been edited to form a tighter narrative. It has good bones and solid effects, but the shoestring story doesn't help sell the nearly 3-hour runtime. Say what you will about Halloween Ends, but at least it was cohesive.

While you might read this and assume I hated the film, that couldn't be further from the truth. I enjoyed the Terrifier 2 a lot actually, I just feel like there's a much better project hidden within it. The acting is fantastic and one of the names that helped elevate the project is Lauren LaVera.

I'm excited to see with the Terrifier series goes, but I'm just as excited to see where Lauren's career goes as well! Will she be stuck within horror culture from here on out or will she expand her catalog and tackle all comers? Time will most definitely tell.

Terrifier 2 joined Screambox’s growing library of unique horror content, including Pennywise: The Story of IT, Masters of Horror, 13 Nights of Elvira, Satan's Little Helper, PussyCake, Toxic Crusaders, and the original Terrifier. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think of the film!
