Dominik Platen and Oscar Harding - Morbius, Star Wars, A Life on the Farm (2022) #video #fantasticfest

Weeks before I started covering Fantastic Fest, I received an e-mail about a random documentary. Like most similar instances, I respond nonchalantly. Little did I know, I was setting up a viewing for arguably the best film of the festival.

To give you a little context, the film is based on a found VHS tape best described as "Monty Python meets The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and covers mental rural health, death positivity, grief, and creativity in a rural village in Somerset, England.

I didn’t really know what I was getting into with A Life on the Farm, but I’m glad I gave it a shot, and after I had a chance to sit down and take it in, I jumped at the opportunity to discuss the project with director Oscar Harding and producer/assistant director Dominik Platen.

A Life on the Farm is hilarious, sad, and heartwarming. The focus of the film, Charles Carson, is a treasure and everyone deserves to be introduced to this unique and inspiring man. If you enjoyed Winnebago Man then you're gonna love life on the farm. Stay tuned to the farm by following the team HERE.
