Jason R. Miller is one of those names that gets brought up a lot when listening to my favorite podcasts. He's known for working on some of my favorite films like Hatchet, Frozen and Beyond the Gates. And while he's typically connected to producing, visual effects, and editing, this time he's in the director's chair with his latest feature, Bloodhound.
Private investigator Abel Walker along with his cameraman, Jim, is on the hunt for a missing woman. As they unravel the mystery of her disappearance, they become caught in a sick and violent game that will end in murder.
What sets this film apart from the rest is the clever pseudo-doc style. Detective dramas can be stale, and with Bloodbound we get a fresh approach with an interesting tone through a found footage lense. Because of this, we are always in the passenger seat with the detectives, and ultimately solving the twisted tale right alongside them.
In the tradition of Nightcrawler and Se7en, Jason R. Miller spikes the goosebumps this month with Bloodhound. The film stars Ed Ackerman (Frozen, 17 Again), David Foy (Hatchet II), Miles Dougal (Director’s Cut, Detroit Rock City), Jess Allen (Broken Glass), and Silvia Moore (Lords of Salem, Chillerama). The film is now available on DVD and digital from High Octane Pictures.
