We all know and love Jamie Kennedy. Hell, even my Grandma loved the guy. I can literally remember walking into her room, only to discover her watching Kickin’ It Old Skool for the 46th time.

A good friend of mine referred to Stephen McHattie as Canada’s Lance Henricksen recently, and while at first, I was a bit taken aback by this comparison, the more I dug into McHattie’s catalog, the more of a genius my buddy became. Regardless of who you want to compare him to though, McHattie is a legend in his own right, and I’m still in awe by the fact that I was able to go back in forth with the man himself. Stephen’s resume includes some heavy hitters, films that are pretty much staples of Blu-ray collection throughout the world.

I can remember a time when my Facebook movie groups were flooded with conversations revolving around the film Pontypool. I, like many others, jumped in, and it has been a long time since I’ve been that impressed with a blind dive. While the “pool” wasn’t necessarily too deep, it was insanely clever and because of which, Bruce McDonald will forever remain a stapled to my radar.

I, like many others, utilize the subscription-based streaming service, Amazon Prime. While scrolling through the app one dull evening, I was reminded of the film My Friend Dahmer. I have a self-admitted obsession with serial killers.

Everywhere I looked pointed to Brendan being a HUGE film buff. Most biographies would go as far as to say he has an “extensive knowledge” of live theatre, film, and TV. So right off the bat, I wanted to know his favorite films of 2019. Brendan did not disappoint, and we gushed over Parasite and Uncut Gems right away.

Jason R. Miller is one of those names that gets brought up a lot when listening to my favorite podcasts. He's known for working on some of my favorite films like Hatchet, Frozen and Beyond the Gates.  And while he's typically connected to producing, visual effects, and editing, this time he's in the director's chair with his latest feature, Bloodhound.

If you know me, like really know me, then you know I'm a fan of dead formats, and VHS is my all-time favorite. I'm not exactly sure why, but there's just something exciting about an old dusty VCR. It's that same "excitement" that Jack Henry Robbins attempts to encapsulate with his latest release, VHYes!

Jennifer Reeder is an American artist, filmmaker, and screenwriter. Her short film A Million Miles Away was nominated for a Tiger Award for Short Films at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and screened at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in the U.S. Short Narrative Films category. In 2003, she had a solo screening at Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Sweden.
