As a fan of David Koechner's work for many years, the opportunity to interview him was both exciting and nerve-wracking. With a filmography that includes classics like "Anchorman" and "The Office," as well as more recent hits like "Cheap Thrills" and "The Righteous Gemstones," Koechner has become one of the most recognizable faces in comedy.
But as I sat down to speak with him about his latest project, I found that my nerves quickly dissipated. Koechner was warm, engaging, and clearly passionate about his craft. We talked at length about his new film, his approach to acting, and his thoughts on the industry as a whole.
One of the things that struck me about Koechner was his willingness to take on a wide variety of roles. From comedic parts in movies like "Anchorman" to more dramatic turns in "Cheap Thrills," he's proven himself to be a versatile actor who isn't afraid to take risks.
As someone who has been a fan of Koechner's work for many years, it was fascinating to hear him speak about his craft and his approach to acting. He talked about the importance of finding the truth in a character, no matter how outrageous or absurd they may seem on the surface.
As our interview came to a close, I found myself even more impressed with Koechner than I had been before. He's a talented actor who takes his work seriously, but he's also down-to-earth and approachable. Be sure to check out his latest work, Dotty & Soul, available digitally and on-demand on May 19th, 2023.
