He is best known for playing Cedric Daniels in The Wire and Phillip Broyles in Fringe. He is also known for portraying Detective Johnny Basil on Oz and Matthew Abaddon in Lost. Additionally, he provided both the voice and likeness for video game characters Martin Hatch in Quantum Break and Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn. He also voices the character Commander Zavala in the Destiny franchise. I’m sure that you know the face, but do you know the name? Today we talk to the man, the myth, ladies and gentlemen, today we speak to Lance Reddick.
Oddly enough this is one of those cases where the more I dug, the more I would get nervous about the interview. Lance has an amazing story, and as mentioned above, he’s worked on a ton of acclaimed projects. Thankfully though, Lance was a sweetheart, and we had a great time going down memory lane. We touch on a little bit of everything, the old, the really old, and we even made time to discuss some of his latest. So, strap up, and take a listen to quite honestly, one of my best interviews. EVER.
While we didn’t get to it until the end, Lance does have a new film being released, and while Halloween is behind us, I insist that you still check out the horror/thriller Monster Party from writer/director Chris von Hoffmann. The film stars Julian McMahon, Robin Tunney, Sam Strike, Erin Moriarty, Brandon Micheal Hall, Virginia Gardner, Diego Boneta, and our friend, Lance Reddick.
The story follows three thieves who plan a daring heist posing as waiters at a fancy Malibu mansion dinner party in hopes of paying off an urgent debt. When their plan goes horribly wrong, the trio realizes the dinner guests are not as innocent as they seem and their simple cash grab becomes a violent and desperate battle to get out of the house alive. RLJE Films will release Monster Party nationally in theaters, VOD and Digital HD on November 2, 2018.
