This movie was something I really cared about. It should be huge. It needed a lot to make it up to the frightening level of the original. I can't believe I just watched that. It was bad. Just bad.
Were they trying to get a new generation interested in Clive Barkers Hellraiser? If they wanted to, they failed.
This movie went for an hour without seeing the cenobites or the awesome draw, especially the female Pinhead. A group of forgettable characters tried to do something with their poorly written roles, but it didn't work. I cared more about Hellraiser's Kirsty than these millennial fucktards.
This movie had really good things to follow, but it didn't make it. The coolest thing for me, as a scientist, was the awesome Faraday cage around the house that kept them out. But, it was so much a rip-off of 13 Ghosts.
Hulu is trying to do something good with its original movies. They successfully did films like Fresh. Unfortunately, this Hellraiser movie should be forgotten, along with the many older sequels. The first, original movie remains a classic. It's hard to improve on perfection.
