I’ve been fascinated with lost media for ages, and honestly, I think that is why I still collect VHS tapes and other dead formats. You can really find them anywhere, but Facebook groups seem to be the hotbed as of late. I’ve scored everything from out of print porn to shot on video horror.

In August of 2019, an odd piece of horror film ephemera made its way across the internet. It was a Letter of Intent confirming Executive Producer status on a project called Night of the Living Dead and the Day After. The letter is addressed to “Joe” and “John” and signed by the late director George Romero.

Clint Eastwood is back in the news again, folks. That’s right, everybody’s Platonic ideal of an irascible, reactionary grandpa is refusing to honor the boycott against filming in Georgia, the state where it’s great to be a budget-conscious filmmaker but awful to be a woman. Now, let’s make one thing clear--I do not approve of Eastwood’s decision, but maybe we’re all addressing this moral problem from the entirely wrong perspective.

Greetings, CineDump! I know I’ve been gone a long time, and here I am, walk of shame ready, shoes in hand, half-empty Lonestar in hip pocket, and nothing to give you but a hard time. Previous to that, we were one and the same species, and even now we remain genetically closer than dogs and wolves.

I have never been a “the book is better than the movie” person. Sure, I think that sometimes an adaptation can really miss the mark of the book’s intent, or leave out one of my favorite plot points, but I hate comparing one medium to the other. Movies don’t have to remind us which characters are talking, or go into detail about a room’s furniture, or make it clear when one scene is over and a new one is beginning.

After drying out from the endless supply of Johnnie Walker I was plied with at the 2017 Oak Cliff Film Festival, I gathered my wits about me, found my car keys, and had some time to reflect. As a result of this, I realized, A24 Productions, we need to talk, girl. I was lucky enough to get into the well-attended screening of your latest outing A Ghost Story, and I got exactly what the trailers promised me.
